Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are motivated scholars seeking to improve their communication skills. They visit the speech room one-to-four times weekly to receive speech and language support services. With less than 15 days left this school year, I am already prepping for our early August start date.
Please help us begin the 2024-2025 school year with basic supplies to individualize their educational experience, including folders, stickers, labels, photo paper, magnet dots, and more!
The materials included in this project are important for social emotional growth as well as academic progress. They help foster a sense of ownership and belonging. They requested folders will be used to create individual speech therapy folders to encourage daily practice of targeted speech and language skills. The colorful, heavy-duty plastic folders will be durable and easily cleaned to last the entire school year. The students will be able to design the cover of their speech folder with a name tag and stickers. They will also have the opportunity to earn additional stickers throughout the school year to add to their folder. The photo paper refills will be used to take individual pictures of each student, one for their folder and one for our "Everyone is Welcome-You Belong Here" bulletin board.
