Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is an exceptional place for students to learn and grow on the northwest side of Indianapolis. We are a Title I school with over 800 students in grades K through 6. Nineteen percent are English Language Learners, and 75% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Nine percent are students with special needs. Our population of students is very diverse with 61% Black, 27% Hispanic, 5% White, 6% Asian, and 1% are of another ethnicity. Our school and within our township we struggle with state testing, but we continue to strive for growth.

My Project

The Gaiam Classic Balance Ball Chair and the Active Kids Wobble Chair will be utilized by students in class that need additional support to stay focused and engaged in everyday learning. Also, the lanyards will help keep student masks from being lost throughout the school day.

The balance ball chair and wobble chair will help students move in class within their personal space triggering the brain to stay attentive, and the lanyards prevent the loss of their school mask!

Please help fund these excellent focus enhancing chairs to keep students active in class! My students need all the help we can get with the restrictions in class due to Covid-19. Help make learning engaging!
