Starry Starry Night

Help me give my students what they need to transform our halls into a Glamorous Red Carpet themed event with cardboard stars, curtain panels, adhesive dots, and other materials that can be reused in multiple ways!

My Students

We are a culturally diverse, rural high school. Our students are the pride of our school system. Students compete on all levels from local to national through athletics, FFA, FBLA and BETA club activities.

We have high expectations for our students; meaning we want them to leave high school fully prepared for whatever they have chosen, whether it be college, vocational or straight into a career field.

Our Core Beliefs and Mission statement for our school are​ “My Education My Future”.

My Project

Last year we made the decision to bring the Prom back to our school cafeteria after years of alternate venues. The hope is to be able to bring down the cost so tickets can be more affordable to our students. My students have planned a glamorous Hollywood night which will totally transform the room into a red carpet, black-tie event they will remember in a setting which in no way resembles their school cafeteria. The silver stars, red backdrop panels, and curtain lights will be used to create a Junior/Senior Walk of Stars with color accents and attached with the adhesive dots. The silver Bokeh backdrop will be used to create a photo opportunity backdrop in a different area of the prom.

We actually are creating an investment in our school because all these materials will be stored and reused for future events including proms and banquets.

They also can be used by our fine arts department for musical and theater performances as well as highlighting special artworks and our yearly fashion merchandising classes Fashion Show. My students have worked very hard this year to raise the money necessary for all the decor. Please help us to bring these silver and glitzy accents to this special event (and future events)!
