This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse in all facets of music. For example, students are interested in performance repertoire, some interested in the historical aspect of music and culture, others thrive in technical feats, a few are deep into the science and theory of music, but they all have one thing in common: My students love music and our program.

My students want to create beautiful sounds.

This is perhaps the coolest thing that I have heard them come up with on their own. They have begun to ask how beautiful sounds can be achieved in a variety of instruments. Help us delve further into beautiful sound production.

My Project

We are extremely lucky to have students that are curious enough to learn multiple instruments (doubling). Our woodwind players are notorious for dabbling on saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and other woodwind instruments. It is customary to simply put an instrument on a chair or the floor while it is not being played. However, this could result in someone bumping into the instrument, or the instrument sliding/falling off a chair. Having a proper stand will ensure that these situations do not happen. Also, teaching a student how to properly take care of an instrument is part of their musical education. There is simply no need to resort to a makeshift solution.
