My Students

The greatest challenge for most of my students is remaining focused throughout a class period. Our classroom is made up of students from a very rural area.

Our classroom motto is simple, "Fair is everybody getting what they need to be successful!" The students in this classroom struggle with academics but make up for it with their outgoing personalities.

We learn from each other and remind each other to always try our best, even when we feel we might not achieve success.

My Project

During classroom instruction, students are often required to sit at their desk and complete notes. For those students who struggle to remain still, this can cause conflict in their learning. Some students need the opportunity to stand and move during those needed instructional periods. This standing student desk will provide such opportunity.

This standing desk will allow students to stand while completing their notes, with the swinging footrest providing them with the opportunity to move.

Moving for some students allows them to focus more on what is happening within the lesson. This desk will help center students attention on their learning!
