The students knew that as a class, overall behavior counted as to whether we would have a drawing on Fridays or not. I also used behavior as a class to base the number of drawings per class.\r\nThe students really enjoyed the prizes. With your donation, I was able to purchase AngLegs Starter Sets for my Geometry classes. My students used these manipulatives to do a discovery activity where they made triangles with sides of different lengths to see for themselves what combination of lengths allowed them to form a triangle. The students were excited to do a hands-on activity with the AngLegs and they were able to grasp concepts that have stayed with them for future lessons where they needed this background knowledge. Having this resource has made a big impact on my students' understanding by being able to visualize triangle leg lengths.\r\n\r\nI was also able to purchase dry erase markers and bright colored paper for my classroom. My students enjoy working problems at the white boards and are thrilled when they get to use a brand new marker that writes so nicely! I also have copied reference flip books for different math concepts including Trigonometric Functions on the colored paper. The students love their flip books that are so colorful and useful for them as they complete challenging problems!\r\n\r\nThe items I was able to purchase for my classroom through your generosity have been a game-changer for my students. For example, I was able to purchase two new indoor bowling balls which allowed the students more opportunities during our bowling unit in PE. Instead of standing around waiting to bowl, I was able to create a couple more indoor lanes for the students to have more opportunities to bowl and practice. I was also able to purchase jump ropes for my PE class which gives my students the chance to be more physically active. Many of my jump ropes have been used for many years and were beginning to become damaged. Your generosity allowed me to update my equipment. We received handheld dry-erase boards, cushions, and a light for our classroom. Our project is in full swing beginning this week, but we did do a practice round. Students are using the cushions around the room for comfort while reading their novels. The hand-held dry-erase boards were used to answer questions about stories using this method. It was great to hear from all the kids rather than just the volunteers. Finally, the light allows us to have the room dimmer for ambience rather than the stark bright lights.\r\n\r\nThe students were elated when they first saw the huge crate of goodies for our classroom. They anxiously grabbed cushions and helped thread the dry-erase boards. Everyone took a cushion to get comfortable on the floor. All students appreciated your gifts! It was a rewarding experience. \r\n\r\nWe begin our official reading this week. Students selected choice novels and will respond with the boards at times. Your donations allow for less fortunate students to have an equal opportunity in education. The graphic novels allow for struggling students to develope a love for reading and provide a healthy break for others. There are never enough graphic novels and it's always a good feeling to have them asking for more. \r\n\r\nThe markers and Pens were first opened as Chrismas presents to the class and used for a service project to make Christmas cards for residents in the nursing home. Students then used them in their end of semester class project depicting a character from the book they just read. Students will continue to use these items for homework, notes, flashcards and everyday projects. Color allows for fun learning and easier recall of information. \r\n\r\nWith the use of technology students are using the headphones daily. These allow students review recorded lessons, to get caught up on work or even go back and listen again for better understanding. The new books you provided have opened up exciting opportunities for learning and growth. Many of our students are discovering new worlds, ideas, and perspectives through these texts. These skills are helping them become more thoughtful, confident readers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become an interactive, engaging experience. Students gather in our flexible seating areas to read independently, share passages with partners, or discuss ideas in small groups. The combination of fresh books and inviting spaces has made reading a joyful, immersive experience rather than just a classroom task.\r\n\r\nCertain students who previously struggled to engage with books are now eagerly picking up titles and staying absorbed for longer periods. Others are exploring genres they hadn't considered before, like graphic novels, biographies, or poetry, expanding their literary horizons. It's rewarding to see students excited to recommend books to one another and to hear them talk passionately about the stories they've discovered.\r\n\r\nYour gift is more than just books and furniture, it's an investment in our students' curiosity, confidence, and love of learning. As educators, we understand that each student brings unique strengths, needs, interests, and learning profiles to the classroom. Having diverse, accessible, and appropriately leveled texts is essential for supporting their growth.\r\n\r\nStudents with disabilities often require differentiated materials to engage meaningfully with grade-level content. When we offer texts at varying reading levels, genres, formats, and degrees of complexity, we create multiple entry points for learning. This not only supports comprehension and skill development but also increases student confidence, motivation, and independence.\r\n\r\nMy students are most looking forward to reading \"Max the Mighty\" which is a sequel to the book we are currently reading- \"Freak the Mighty\".
