Standing Up for Our Education

Help me give my students a standing desk so that they have the flexibility to learn their way, using self-regulation to advocate for their success.

My Project

Many students struggle with self-regulation in the classroom. Learning what they need to be successful in their learning is an integral part of personal growth and understanding how to advocate for their own individual success. I have recently begun the journey of flexible seating. This allows my students to use items such as ball chairs, wobble chairs, lap desks, floor pads to position themselves so they may do their personal best.

Providing students with seating choices such as a standing desk, while teaching them to identify their needs and self-regulate their behavior will teach them how to advocate for their own learning, and create an environment where students can do their personal best.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
