Standing Up for Education

Help me give my students the flexibility to learn in the manner most comfortable to them with standing desks for our more active learners.

My Students

Our students come from very diverse backgrounds, and they benefit from unique learning opportunities. Any opportunity to learn in a new way helps to engage our students. Many come from impoverished areas, where shootings occur on a weekly basis and school is not always deemed a priority. Yet, they persevere. They come to school every day, ready to learn and grow. They embrace new learning opportunities and try to access the curriculum the best way they can. They are students committed to learning, to growing, and to being their best possible positive self.

My Project

Our students are incredibly diverse and so are their learning styles. Many of our students learn best in nontraditional seating options. Donor's Choose has helped fund wobble stools, bean bags, and balance balls for our students, but some of our learners need a different option.

We are requesting four standing desks for our more active learners.

Standing desks are not only a healthier option for students, they also increase student focus and engagement. By funding these standing desks from Staples, you will allow our students even more flexibility to focus on their education. Having one or two standing desks in a classroom shows students that we respect their learning styles and that we value their needs.
