"Trailing clouds of glory... I'm coming home." At the fifth grade level, it is extremely important to engage students with quality literature. In particular, when students are struggling to find a love of reading in their homes, it is the teacher's duty to foster a love of life-long reading within the classroom. In the high poverty, high needs, and low support school setting, students really need to find characters and stories that they can relate to if they are ever going to develop a love of reading.
