This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have amazing students. They are on a variety of levels and come from various backgrounds.
Many of my inner-city students don't come to class with the necessary equipment, or they are often misplaced along the way.
This causes them much stress during the day. I am hoping to have my classroom as a home base for their supplies to keep them organized and prepared. With this foundation, they will have one less thing to worry about during their day.
My Project
By having the different colors of paper, this allows my students to visually see the work that needs to be completed. The variety of paper makes it easier for them to discriminate long term, versus short term, versus daily assignments.
Because many students do not have access to books, the colored ink allows students to have their work in color and therefore makes it more appealing for them to read.
My students are students with individual education plans, and by allowing them these resources, it helps them to complete their work and be the successful students that they are destined to be.
