My Project

Our class includes several students who are diagnosed with ADHD, and I want to provide them with the tools and resources they need to thrive. Specifically, I am seeking funding for two standing desks to promote flexible seating and a small supply of healthy snacks to ensure our students are focused and ready to learn each day.

In our classroom, we believe that every child learns differently.

Many of my students, especially those with ADHD, find it difficult to sit still for long periods of time, and traditional desks can become barriers to their focus and success. Research has shown that flexible seating options, like standing desks, can help students with ADHD improve focus, reduce restlessness, and increase engagement in their learning. Standing desks will allow students to choose a seating option that works best for them, giving them the freedom to move and shift positions as needed while staying engaged in the lesson.

These standing desks will provide much-needed support for students who struggle with long periods of sitting. They allow students to stand while working, which has been shown to improve focus, productivity, and overall well-being. By incorporating this flexible seating option into our classroom, I am confident that students will feel more comfortable, focused, and empowered to take charge of their learning.

In addition to the standing desks, I am also requesting funding for healthy snacks to keep my students energized and ready to learn. Many of my students come from low-income families and often arrive at school without having had a substantial breakfast. Providing snacks will ensure that they have the energy they need to concentrate and participate in lessons throughout the day.
