My Project

I am a middle school GATE math teacher with amazing students. We use many modalities of learning in my classroom, and I would love to add some flexibility for my students that find it difficult to sit for lengthy periods of time. This will aide in keeping them engaged in the curriculum rather than fidgeting in their seat.

My goal is to allow students flexibility when they need to stand while keeping them engaged in the lesson and learning objectives.

There are many health benefits to standing while working, which include:

lowering the risk of weight gain and obesity, lowering blood sugar levels, combating chronic lower back pain, raising life expectancy by up to 2 years, reducing the risk of shoulder and back pain, improving energy and concentration levels, reducing metabolic problems and helping with digestion, improving circulation.

Students will be able to self-select these standing desks when they feel the need.
