Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need a significant amount of movement, especially since they are autistic and do stay in my self-contained classroom as opposed to moving throughout the building as the general education population.
These tall desks will help the students determine for themselves how they want to stand or sit during academic activities.
I try to give students choices whenever possible. These will be a great addition to our kinisthetic classroom!
We incorporate a lot of movement (composting outdoors, walking while practicing social skills, and local school trips where we walk to local businesses and learn hiring and management skill) but still spend time at desks.
