My Project

This is a project for all the music students at our school! My band counterpart and I share some common rooms between our classes, including an equipment room/library and what is supposed to be a practice room. A few years ago we underwent a renovation right as everyone was leaving for lockdown. As a result, lots of our equipment was haphazardly left around our spaces by the moving team. Since returning to the building, we have been working through the many moving pieces that come with a performing arts classroom, trying to organize them, making our space more functional and better suited to setting our students up for success. This is the next step in that process!

These rolling storage carts will allow us to have more floor space in our classrooms, free up an entire practice room for students to use, and make it easier to transport stands when we set up for concerts.

Having our practice room freed up will allow us to send small groups of students to use it during class. This helps foster independence and part confidence in performing arts classes when students can spend time with their specific voice or instrument part to learn a section of a song before returning to the whole group.

In addition to having a more functional space, these carts will also make concerts much smoother! Currently, we have to move all of our equipment from our classrooms to the gym by hand, so multiple carts would make this process much quicker!
