My Students

I work with students in a special education setting. Most of my students struggle with reading and math. By the end of the year, our goals are to be reading and performing math skills on grade level. My students biggest challenge is focusing and staying on task.

My students eager to learn, despite being their many struggles.

Our school is a Title I school with 95.3% of students living below the poverty line, and 19.8% of students receiving special education services. Our school has a staff which wholeheartedly loves our students and works diligently to provide as many unique opportunities for each child.

My Project

The Stand Up School Desk gives students the option to sit or stand, making it an innovative learning solution for the classroom. The pendulum footrest helps release excess energy and improve posture, so students can stay focused. As many of my students struggle with attention deficits, we are continuously learning new ways to focus and study. These desks will give my students an opportunity learn in their best practice, allowing these already struggling learners the best opportunities possible.

By helping provide my students with these materials, you will be helping special education students grow as learners in all areas of education.

These desks will teach my students about different learning styles, allowing their education to be molded to fit their needs.
