Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all unique and learn in many different ways. They are curious and need to be able to actively participate in their learning environment.
Our school has students ranging from pre-K to fourth grade.
My classroom consists of 15 amazing children. They range in age from three to five. Some of my students have Individualized Education Plans. The students with disabilities in my classroom vary. I have students who are unable to walk independently; students who are non-verbal; and students who have sensory needs that impact their education and social skills on a daily basis.
My students come from a variety of cultures, socioeconomic sectors, and family structures. Although they are all unique, they all have a common goal to be lifelong learners. They are curious and energetic. They play and move to learn. Even at a young age, they learn to work together to explore their environment and solve problems. My students have so much to offer, they teach me every day!
My Project
It is important for my students to have access to a variety of art mediums in order to enhance their creative opportunities. The ink pads and variety of stamps will provide visual support to students who are still working on creating and describing their art.
In addition to the stamps and ink pads, my students will use the PlayDoh to create and strengthen their small muscles.
Due to COVID my students have been going through PlayDoh quickly since they are unable to share it. It is a preferred and often chosen activity that they can use to explore a variety of standards. Thank you in advance for supporting my students’ learning!
