My Project

I don’t know a lot of kids who are really into stained glass, but when you combine a mason jar, tissue paper and Mod-Podge glue it becomes a fun Camp Read-Alot Experience.

It is almost time for our Camp Read-Alot classroom transformation.

At the end of the year I transform my classroom into a camping experience complete with making a S'more! This year my students will be using the Ball Canning Jars, metal handles, lid inserts, foam brushes, fairy lights and other materials to make a lantern. They will need this lantern so they can read by their "campfire" and make S'mores.

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by providing a fun end of the year experience. An experience that will make them want to come to school and read. I still have reluctant readers who would rather draw then read a good book. My goal is for them to use the Ball Canning jars, handles, lid inserts, tissue paper, Mod-Podge, and fairy lights, to create a personal lantern. Then they will be so excited they will want to read by the light of their lantern. This will increase their reading comprehension and vocabulary.

Your help will be giving my students a life-long memory. Who wouldn't want to make a lantern and read by the light of it?
