This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Even struggling readers can learn how to love English and writing! Research papers can be difficult to write without the correct reference resources. Fifty-two bright, vivid, fact-filled books will help every student do well on research reports!
Students who hate reading and writing will love looking up information using bright, page-turning non-fiction books with fascinating facts that engage struggling readers.
Donating 52 non-fiction books, will make it hard for any reader to resist reading. These research books deal with contemporary themes, written in a fast-paced style to maintain student interest until the last page. Every student will get an A on their research reports because of new books that are designed to make research easy!
My Project
Students will get into groups of 5 in order to document, then chart interesting research facts about natural disasters. Students will share information about disasters using a gallery walk technique where every student will add more facts as they travel from group to group. Students will use books to learn how to cite correctly for research reports. Finally students will use group information and individual research to create and present research reports to the class.
Non-fiction books never go out of style.
These fast-paced, contemporary writers keep students reading. These popular books have captivated reluctant readers for many years. Help me give struggling readers power-packed books for their reading enjoyment. I need books with various themes guaranteed to keep my students turning the pages until the very end! Help me build a class library for striving readers.
