My Project

As an art teacher without a dedicated classroom, I currently store all of my supplies in a small bedroom-style closet with no shelves. Everything is kept in bins stacked on top of each other, which makes accessing materials extremely difficult. If I need something from the bottom bin, I have to unstack everything—wasting valuable class time and creating unnecessary frustration.

These stackable storage drawers will completely transform how I store and access art materials.

Instead of lifting and moving multiple bins, I’ll be able to simply slide out a drawer and grab what I need, making setup and cleanup much faster and smoother. Students will also be able to safely access art supplies on their own, without the risk of unstable stacks falling or materials being out of reach, making our art time more independent and much safer.

I also want to note that the bins I’m currently using will not go to waste—classroom teachers will repurpose them for their own supplies and centers, ensuring every resource continues to benefit our students.

This added organization will help me keep materials neat, visible, and ready to use no matter where I’m teaching. It’s a small change with a huge impact on safety, efficiency, and student creativity.
