My Project

I teach a resilient group of students in the heart of Las Vegas. In a high-poverty, transient neighborhood, our classroom serves as a "safe harbor." When students face housing instability or frequent moves, they need a learning environment that is predictable, visual, and structured.

Visual cues are the universal language of success.

Because students often join our class mid-year, they need to understand routines immediately. Our Anchor Chart Easels and Pocket Chart Stand will serve as a permanent "memory bank," keeping lessons visible for weeks so students can catch up at their own pace.

To boost literacy, the Listening Center and Headphones will provide a calm sanctuary where students can immerse themselves in fluent storytelling. Meanwhile, Visual Timers and Weather Charts transform the abstract concept of time into something concrete and manageable, reducing the anxiety often associated with instability.

Finally, tools like Double-Sided Whiteboards and the "Supplies on Strike" set will foster a culture of stewardship. We teach our students that while they may own very little outside these walls, they "own" their education here.
