My Students

My 6th grade classroom is a place where kids are allowed to be active and engaged in their curriculum. Students are encouraged to collaborate and debate one another to solve problems and complete tasks in all subject areas.

Growing up in our rural Southeast Kansas community provides them with a unique background.

My students may be from a high poverty area with less opportunities than some suburban counterparts, but I am motivated to give them every opportunity to become successful!

My Project

Flexible seating has changed my entire classroom. Currently, students can move freely about my classroom and choose a seat that helps each of them learn best. My 6th graders need some stability chairs to add to their seating options. Our current yoga balls have no stability and frequently bounce across our classroom which distracts other learners.

These chairs will provide a safe and long lasting seating option for my classroom.

Students will be able to sit at any table with these without worrying that the balls will be rolling away from underneath them. The balls will last longer because the vulnerable material of the yoga ball will not be rolling across the classroom floor.
