My students need a class set of various seating options so they do not have to use hard chairs, like the option to sit on cushioned mats, or bounce on a stability yoga ball to help them focus, and some could sit on stools.
My students are extremely passionate about learning, but they each learn in their own unique way. They are kind, hard-working, and busy, busy, busy!
My two classes consist of children from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and we all come together in our room each day to accomplish our goals.
Several of my students have a more difficult time grasping the content than others, but it is so amazing to watch the other children be so quick and eager to take over and teach their friends in a way that I could not explain.
My Project
My students are 9 and 10 years old..they need to be moving around! Sometimes by the end of our lesson, the children are either upside down in their chairs, or trying to stand on them. If I could gather some flexible seating options for our classroom, I would let my students choose which option will make them the most successful.
My students would now have the option to sit on cushioned mats on the floor, where I do not usually let them sit because we have hard tile floors.
Some of my busy-bodies could bounce on a stability yoga ball to help them focus, and some could sit in stools without backs on them..wherever they believe they will do their best work.
