My students are 9 and 10 years old..they need to be moving around! Sometimes by the end of our lesson, the children are either upside down in their chairs, or trying to stand on them. If I could gather some flexible seating options for our classroom, I would let my students choose which option will make them the most successful. My students would now have the option to sit on cushioned mats on the floor, where I do not usually let them sit because we have hard tile floors. Some of my busy-bodies could bounce on a stability yoga ball to help them focus, and some could sit in stools without backs on them..wherever they believe they will do their best work.
