My Students

Although my students are young, they have already faced many adversities and challenges in their lives. Many of them come from single parent and low income households. They have seen violence, poverty, and hardship that many of us cannot fathom.

Through all of this, they remain loving, selfless, and eager to learn.

They reach out for a hug when they enter my classroom and cannot wait to tell me about their weekend or night at home. They never leave without saying goodbye or “See you tomorrow!” They thrive in environments where they can learn in outside of the box ways at their own pace and without judgement.

Ultimately, preparing our students for Kindergarten is my main priority. Our job is to make sure they are on the right track, give them their best chance, and do everything in our power to set them up for success at every stage of their young lives.

My Project

The funniest way to learn is the messiest way to learn! My students love to engage in sensory play and art projects. We do these types of activities often, but the cleanup afterwards prolongs the transition periods between activities.

With these new feeding chairs, cordless vacuum, mop, and broom set it will give a jump start on the not so fun part of messy play!

We use feeding chairs in our classroom as a safe place for students to engage in messy play. Our current chairs have been used thoroughly and could use some replacements! The vacuum will allow us to keep our space clean without the safety hazard of a large cord in the way. The broom and mop will replace our old supplies and are both able to wash a reuse to make sure everything stays clean!
