Although my students are young, they have already faced many adversities and challenges in their lives. Many of them come from single parent and low income households. They have seen violence, poverty, and hardship that many of us cannot fathom. Through all of this, they remain loving, selfless, and eager to learn. They reach out for a hug when they enter my classroom and cannot wait to tell me about their weekend or night at home. They never leave without saying goodbye or "See you tomorrow!" They thrive in environments where they can learn in outside of the box ways, at their own pace, and without judgement. Ultimately, preparing our children for Kindergarten is my main priority. Our job is to make sure they are on the right track, give them their best chance, and do everything in our power to set them up for sucess at every stage of their young lives.
