Sprinkling Kindness Around the Community

Help me give my students fuzzy socks, chap stick, and puzzle books to help us make holiday gift packages for a local nursing home.

My Project

Our school corporation started a Kindness initiative and we have been working to spread kindness around our school. I am thrilled to extend our kindness to others in our community by donating Kindness Holiday Bags to our elderly community members. My young kids can help pack little bags with fuzzy socks, chap stick, and puzzle books. These Holiday Bags will be delivered to our local elderly community at nursing homes and assisted living communities. We will be adding some holiday candy and student designed Christmas cards to each package. They will develop ownership of this activity by helping to pack each bag and designing a card to include in each bag!

What a wonderful way to spread kindness by giving to others who may be alone during the holiday season.

I am hopeful through this project that my young students will truly understand that kindness can take all shapes and forms and thinking about others is a selfless act! Giving to others without expecting anything else in return is the true definition of kindness!
