My Project

This spring, some grade levels will be engaged in a learning unit centered around the theme of Spring Garden. Looking at Monet's garden, bugs and butterflies, we will be learning about how activities outside of the studio all contribute to an artist's process.

All of this learning will be centered around how creating art outdoors affected the style of painting in the late 1800s, and the impact of one's environment on creativity and our inner well-being.

Some grade levels will be exploring flowers, patterns, bugs and butterflies, and other students will learn about how impressionism grew to become one of the world's most beloved art movements. Students will create versions of Monet's waterlily bridge paintings, 3D waterlily sculptures, butterflies, mandalas, and more.
