I have 22 beautiful students who live in Oakland. They have different experiences and are culturally diverse. Our school community is a Title I school and doesn't have the money to provide a lot of miscellaneous tools for each classroom. I spend a lot of my own money to buy supplies for my awesome class. But my kiddos (like all students) deserve to have a full TK experience which prepares them for kindergarten. My students are eager learners and are an engaged group of scholars.
My Project
Wow, the year is coming to an end and my wonderful class has shown so much growth! Now is the time to get them excited for what's to come (in kindergarten) and to get their minds in gear for their next big adventure in education. I want my super scholars to leave Transitional Kindergarten ready for the next grade level and with the knowledge that learning is FUN! With these new materials, we can take a fresh look at learning and do some spring cleaning at the same time. We have used most of our glue and our dotters have run very low; getting new art supplies would allow my students to get through the end of the year making some beautiful projects to be proud of. Also the math, science and literacy games will be a great addition to freshen up our centers and end the year with an educational bang!
