Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My TK-6th grade students have playful and curious minds. Some of them have special needs, including learning difficulties, autism, emotional and behavioral difficulties, attention deficit disorder, and other health impairments.
They are passionate about what they do.
My students love to learn and be challenged. Moreover, my students enjoy reading, solving real-life math problems, and doing hands-on activities.
According to Brene Brown, "We are born makers! We move what we're learning from our heads through our hearts to our hands!"
My Project
Last year, I gifted my students with care packages, and what a memorable sight. My students were so grateful for the care packages they got as they never received anything like it before.
This year, I would like to give my students care packages for their spring baskets.
I am requesting towels, soaps, deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrush, and a sweet treat for their sweet tooth.
These items will show my students the feeling of warmth and love as they open their packages filled with useful items they can readily use at home. Instead of the usual Easter sweets and treats, thoughtful care packages will welcome them!
