Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders are now learning The Power of Reading! They are now enjoying books more and more! Our project will include books that my students will read to kindergarteners, 1st graders, and struggling 2nd graders and help spread the love of reading in our school! My students will also read books and spread the love for literacy outside our school! Students will take an oath and have to read to grandparents, cousins, and other family members during our spring break! Students will read to others and then write a report about their experience! How did you feel after reading a book to others? How do you think they felt? Our hope to to spread the love of literacy and to continue this challenge of spreading literacy around our community!

My students need books to help them spread the love of literacy in, around, and outside our school!

My hope to to get parents involved, as well! It’d be nice to spread the love of literacy to not only family members, but to children in hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
