Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have an amazing group of third graders who are known as the Kindness Crew at our school. We have done so many projects throughout the year, that it is almost hard to remember all of the things that we have done. Some activities have included writing letters to veterans, making monthly projects for assisted living residents, making ornaments for local businesses to hand out during different holidays, monthly college pen pals and most recently, delivering May Day vases of flowers to community members.

I truly believe that it is essential to teach students the importance of being kind and showing appreciation in all that they do.

With these supplies and resources, I would like to spread more kindness to our local businesses. My goal is to pick a business each month to celebrate what they do for our community. This would include using the paper and paints to make signs. We would also use the things like the bookmarks and key chains to celebrate their employees. The community gives so much to my students and I that I would love to be able to give back to them.
