My Project

Children with Autism and other disabilities benefit from explicit instruction in all areas. Social Emotional learning needs to be explicitly taught and regularly reinforced.

The "A Little Spot of Emotion" series highlights one emotion per book and explicitly explains how to recognize that emotion.

When a student is able to correctly recognize a feeling they are having and are able to communicate it appropriately to others, it helps others respond appropriately to their needs. My student have limited communication skills and would benefit from being able to communicate their feelings appropriately.
