This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I truly love the enthusiasm and creativity my students bring to our dance TEAM. They inspire me every day with their dedication and passion for movement, even when resources are limited. My students are diverse, talented, and driven to express themselves through dance, often using it as a powerful outlet for personal growth and confidence.

The items I’m requesting will make a significant impact on their learning and performance.

For example:

Shiny skirts and metallic outfits will help enhance their stage presence, giving them the confidence to perform at their best during competitions, school events, and showcases. Wearing costumes that make them feel special helps them embrace the joy of performance art.

Jazz shoes provide necessary support and flexibility for practicing technical moves safely and effectively. Proper footwear ensures students can focus on learning technique without the risk of injury.

My goal for this project is to provide my students with the tools they need to excel as dancers, build their self-esteem, and experience the pride that comes with putting on a polished performance. This project will allow us to participate in upcoming dance shows and competitions where students can showcase their hard work and talents to the community.

What makes my students truly special is their resilience and dedication. Many of them juggle academics, family responsibilities, and extracurriculars, yet they show up ready to learn and support one another like a family. By giving them access to high-quality costumes and shoes, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to shine and feel proud of their achievements, regardless of their financial circumstances.
