Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These cheerleaders are creative, thoughtful and full of determination! They both support and challenge each other every day. Our school is located in a lower-income area and most of our students are not financially able to participate in cheer outside of school. Many of these junior high cheerleaders are multi-sport athletes and when they aren't playing a sport, they are on the sidelines to support their classmates in football, volleyball, basketball, and school spirit assemblies.

After Covid-19 took away nearly half of their school year last year, they are trying to get back to some semblance of normalcy.

Our district was one of the trendsetters in the area by offering a choice of face to face and virtual learning while allowing extra-curricular activity participation for both types of learners. These dedicated athletes deserve to have the materials necessary to make their cheer experience the best possible.

My Project

These cheerleaders will engage in numerous events in and around our school community. This team will perform at volleyball, football, and basketball games, school spirit rallies, school awards assemblies, as well as community spirit events and parades. Cheerleaders are expected to be athletically and technically skilled in the fields of dance, tumbling, cheer-choreography and be both mentally and physically fit. These donations would help the cheer team perform and look their best at their upcoming events. Providing these students with basic necessities will build their confidence and help ensure their success not only this school year but also in years to come.
