This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students’ passion for cheering can only be exceeded by their passion for learning. We are a large, Title One High School in the School District area. They are from over 50 countries and speak more than 20 languages. Students within the district are 100% free lunch. Yet, these 20 self-determined young ladies make the up core of our Huskies’ pride.

Their willingness to constantly seek self-improvement translates to both on and off the field.

They take that same initiative to be consistent role models not just within the district, but within the community. The cheerleaders exude all actions emotionally and physically that elevate them to top competitors in their hearts.

Now they need your help to elevate them to top competitors off the field to top competitors on the field. They can do this with your help and support by funding the expense of cheer camp. Perseverance is all about inner strength, and nothing to do with being inner-city. Success is made and not bought, so let’s make cheer camp a success, not a hurdle.

My Project

Cheer camp is a necessity for cheerleaders to learn proper techniques through safety. Learning how to cheer safely is as important as learning the skills to cheer. They will learn how to do jumps and stunts safely without fear of hurting themselves or other fellow cheerleaders. The cheerleaders get a chance to not only learn a whole new skill set but to hone already learned skills.

Cheer camp is about teamwork, bonding, and skills to help them become overall better leaders.

Camp targets the whole person, from physical to mental preparing these girls for the real world. This is an opportunity for our girls to see cheering in a different light. Allowing them to see the full benefits of cheering in a high school setting but a collegiate setting. Cheerleaders will have the chance to be taught by highly skilled athletes, which some would never be able to receive that opportunity or degree of learning.

They have worked hard to raise enough money to attend camp. We have raised enough for the deposit for each girl. Unfortunately, they have come up short of the total amount needed. Please help the girls reach the remaining amount needed for camp.
