Our classroom is a safe place for students to come and know that no matter what is going on in their life, it is a place where they will feel welcomed and accepted by everyone. The class is a mix of general education students, special education students, and students in need of Academic Intervention Services (AIS).
These students come from a variety of economic backgrounds which means that the students come to us at many different levels.
Our classroom design and learning experiences help students develop tolerance for people from all walks of life. Creating a positive and aesthetically pleasing learning environment contributes to the success of our students.
My Project
My class and I were very fortunate to have a project for a Cricut machine funded. Now we need materials so that we can use the machine.
The Cricut machine is going to be used for projects and to make team t-shirts.
The vinyl will be available for the students to use in any way that enhances projects and activities. We currently are working on a "Lightning Thief" themed miniature golf course. The students will be able to use the vinyl in the Cricut machine towards the design of each individual hole on the golf course. We already have iron-on vinyl and will be making team t-shirts for an end of the year field trip. In June our team will spend the day doing team building activities on a ropes course. We want to design t-shirts to unite the students. In addition to the vinyl, we need an iron and an ironing board to complete the shirts.
