My Students

My students are future Scientists, Technologists, Engineers, Artists, Musicians, and Mathematicians! My students love technology and are in need of more hands-on STEM activities that will help to increase their problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and creativity!

My Project

My project will involve using hands-on STEM activities in music class!

As much as I love teaching the blues scale, major scale, pentatonic scale, and the beautiful dominant seventh, I realize that my students must also learn how to create music using technology!

Sphero Specdrums are app-enabled musical rings that turn colors into sound. With the Sphero Specdrums, my students will learn music theory, experiment with various genres, create and mix sounds and beats, as well as compose music.

The Sphero Specdrum resources will enhance our music classroom, as well as engage, and encourage our students to learn to code and compose music using technology!
