My Students

My room is full of six year olds that are ready to learn as much as they can. They love to explore the world around them by getting a hands approach. My class is comprised of a variety of students with different needs and abilities. My students show up to class every day ready to learn from myself and their peers, and I am given the privilege to learn from them. We are a team, learning and exploring first grade lessons.

My students love to learn in many ways especially using hands on tools.

They are full of energy and excitement each day of school. Their drive and motivation to learn keeps me energetic and ready to help them grow educationally. They are such a great group of kids and I am proud to be their teacher!

My Project

My students will use these new tools to help reinforce our weekly spelling patterns. The mini white boards will be used on a small group setting to practice dictated words. The scrabble tiles will provide an easy way to find and make rhyming words that follow our spelling patterns each week. The letter unifix cubes will be a great way for students to see and identify the vowels and consonants used to make words.

These tools will be a great visual and hands on approach to learn and apply spelling patterns to words.

My students that struggle with letter reversals will have tools that will give them the confidence to practice their spelling and correct their mistakes through trial and error. By allowing my students to have their hands on spelling tools, I will know that their minds will be on spelling.
