Early learners need to explore the mathematical world beyond paper and pencils. With a hands on approach, my students will be able to visualize geometry concepts better - which will help boost their self-confidence. By having enough pattern blocks and tangrams for each student, I can help solidify the concepts of symmetry, simple fractions, and composing/decomposing new and larger shapes. Math manipulatives are powerful and effective teaching tools at the first grade level. My students will be motivated to create and express their new found knowledge through these helpful teaching tools. Geometry will come to life in my classroom with your help.
