My Students

I am a first-year speech-language pathologist in central Missouri. I will be serving children who have diagnoses ranging from autism spectrum disorder to speech sound disorder to language impairment. My students are special because they have unique communication needs. These elementary-age kids come from a variety of backgrounds and require a variety of interventions to improve their speech-language skills.

My Project

The supplies and materials I am requesting already have a place and purpose in my classroom! The games will be used to promote engagement during speech-language therapy lessons. The organizing bins, file folders, binder rings, magnets, and other office supplies will help keep the classroom organized. The table top mirror will help my students visualize their mouths as they are working on their speech sounds. The books will be used both as therapy materials and brain breaks. The rolling cart with drawers will help to maintain and organize all creative materials.

Donations to this project will help to improve my students' learning and engagement during speech-language therapy lessons.

It is very important to me that my students view his or her speech-language therapy session as a positive part of their day. I would greatly appreciate your support in helping me make this happen!
