This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am beyond lucky to work with students from kindergarten through 11th grade on their communication needs. The students I serve attend a charter school in the heart of downtown. Our school is the most diverse in Kansas City and we use our city to provide learning opportunities in the real world. Students attend recess at a local park, walk to the downtown library, and participate in field trips all around the city.

My Project
I provide services for students in individual and small group settings. My students will benefit from these materials to increase their receptive/expressive language, articulation, social skills, and improve fluency. Evidence based practice in order to aid students with their communication deficits is key. These items will help me provide therapy sessions tailored to each students specific needs. The phonemic awareness will help me provide skills to younger students. The grammar and vocabulary bingo sets will provide me the tools to enhance students language in the upper grades. Many of my students have difficulty with basic concepts, and the magnetic language rod will help students visualize items in categories. Lastly, the articulation book set provides a quick and easy tool for students with many sound errors to help their articulation through drills. My speech and language kiddos will be thrilled by the wonderful new materials provided.
