All of our English-Language Arts materials are organized using the folders and binders provided by this project. Because I had the materials to make individual sets of unit books, scholars have constant access to stories at their level of reading. Because of this, I have already noticed an increase in confidence during independent reading time. If I had not been supplies with these materials, this would not be happening. \r\nThis project also provided binders that has our ELA workbook inside. This saves TONS of teacher time in printing, keeping track of papers and provides a sense of ownership when scholars know exactly where to get the needed materials. In a first grade classroom where supply organization is a huge battle everyday- these binders have been beyond beneficial! \r\nLast, but certainly not least, is our community carpet. This project provided my classroom with a big, beautiful and cozy carpet for us to do our best learning upon. The carpet helps us build community and is known as a safe place for scholars to learn and grow. The scholars immediately complimented the softness of the carpet and have learned to love their time learning on it. \r\nI am so appreciative of all the donors that made this project a success. As I am learning the in's and out's of first grade, these tools have not only helped my scholars stay organized- but me as well.
