Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently teach in a DCD-SP special education room. I have the amazing opportunity to work with the most incredible students who all have a variety of different needs and come from a variety of different backgrounds. While they all have different individual needs, one need they all share is sensory needs and the need for sensory supplies!

Teaching these incredible learners with such diverse needs cannot be done without sensory supplies!

Sensory supplies provide much-needed stimulation (in a variety of forms, depending upon the student) that our students need in order for learning to take place. Once a student can have their sensory needs met, their brain is able to focus on the task/activity/lesson!

These students are my world. These students not only have unique learning needs, but they have also been through or are dealing with some really hard family and/or health issues and they deserve the absolute best that I can give them. They deserve to have a classroom that can meet all of their unique needs, including providing a safe, fun environment for them to engage in sensory activities.
