My students are a special group of energetic, creative learners who thrive when lessons are active and engaging. Our school mission is learning through the arts and we work to incorporate this philosophy into all of our lessons. My students thrive on this creative environment. Thus, the last year and a half have been especially difficult for them. We are a collaborative, active group and social distancing has made our work together incredibly challenging.
However, they rose to every challenge presented to them.
My students embraced the changes we asked of them and were willing to adapt to follow the safety protocols put in place. I was so proud to watch as they creatively came up with ways to move their bodies and work together, within the spaces allotted them while also following social distancing protocols.
The creativity and flexibility displayed by my students was inspiring to watch develop. They taught me what those words truly mean and I could not be more proud of them!
My Project
My class adores Steam Wednesdays! This is the day of the week that we work on our steam challenges and we are constantly running out of materials to make our creations come to life!
My students are such a creative group!
They continually amaze me with their flexible minds and they way they work through their challenges. Some of the challenges they are given are building problems, some are creating and some are inventing but regardless of the challenge given they will persevere and come up with fantastic ways to solve the problem.
