Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Despite the hurdles my students face, my second graders have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Most of them come from low income households with parents who don't speak English, yet they are almost all above grade level. Although we don't have top of the line supplies, they are very resourceful with what they have. These students are extremely bright and love learning just about everything! Every lesson I teach is gobbled up by them and they are left wanting for more.

Many of the students in my class have been labeled gifted, and there are many times that they end up teaching me things because of the wonderful way their minds work.

They constantly challenge me, which pleases me to no end.

My Project

I have 18 spectacular second graders who are eager to infuse their learning with technology! I have a couple of students who are really struggling with math and I think they would really benefit from some of the educational programs found online. I would also like to incorporate an iPad into my small group instruction to help students improve their foundational skills.

My students love breaking down problems and dissecting information.

They are very inquisitive and they love to learn new things. I am always looking for fun ways to engage my students, and I believe that having an iPad will really enhance their learning experience!
