My students need the wobble seats because I have several students with ADHD. I worry about them getting hurt from falling out of their chairs. The wobble seats will help keep them active and focused.
I teach at a Title I school. The school and district are on 100% free lunch. We are considered an Urban school district, with Urban school problems. We have the largest percentage of special education students in our building for the district. Our students come to school each day to a loving, safe environment. The staff know the students by name and their family backgrounds. The staff strive to build strong relationships with their students and families. We are a neighborhood school; however, our students are spread over a wide area. Transportation is a problem for our parents.
Our classroom is innovative and I am always willing to go above and beyond for my students.
I would like to provide flexible seating to give my students more choice in their learning environment. Our classroom is a 21st century learning environment so we are always moving and learning in different ways.
My Project
My classroom contains some very active learners. We have a creative learning environment and need to be creative with our seating. The stools will give them an alternative to desks and chairs. Having these choices in where the students sit so they can learn to the best of their ability will greatly improve their academic performance. The wobble seats will allow them to be active and focused on their work at the same time.
Giving students choice in their learning environment allows for ownership of their learning.
We are a 21st century classroom and need to look 21st century! Please help us make that happen.
