My Students

My students thoroughly enjoy math activities where they can move and groove. They like using cards for adding and subtracting, dice for place value games, and using white boards for showing their work.

Their high energy and creativity shows in math, reading, and in art projects.

Give them a math template and they will create cool art with geometric shapes! They love to share their creative spirit with others.

My Project

Spectacular seats for kids involve movement while they are learning. This means kids can wobble, rock, and keep their body moving while they read a book, play a math game, or do their language arts work. Kids are always on the move and giving them some freedom to move AND continue learning is a great opportunity.

I've implemented wiggle seats at my guided reading table and have noticed happier students.

Now, I'd like to see this success transfer into math time and silent choice reading time. Floor seating and stool seating at my math game station will be awesome.
