My Project

Reading marvelous books, especially incredible chapter books like "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe" and "The One Hundred and One Dalmatians," will inspire a lifelong love of reading!! Many of my students have learned how to read successfully but are still developing deeper reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. Reading is surely the most important subject to master because the mastery of all other subjects requires reading proficiency. I agree wholeheartedly with the common saying, "Reading is the key to learning." Books have the power to touch a child's heart and mind! Reading is undoubtedly a skill that will help my dual immersion students to be successful in life and to better understand their expanding world.

This project will allow me to compliment our classroom by providing my students high-interest literature to listen to and to re-read together in small groups (the chapter books like "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe" and "The One Hundred and One Dalmatians"), so that they can both develop important reading comprehension skills that will help them succeed personally and academically.

These read-aloud books will help me foster in my students a lifetime love of reading. As part of the project, children will be encouraged to discuss story elements and character perspectives with each other. As such, they will develop their reading comprehension, vocabulary development, writing, and listening and speaking skills.

This project is guaranteed to have truly enduring benefits, because amazing books open children's minds and inspire a love of learning.
