Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students
I teach preschoolers with developmental delays in a Title I school serving a significant number of low-income families. Additionally, due to our location near a large military base, many of my students have a parent in the military and may experience a high level of stress due to parental separation or frequent relocation. My students have cognitive, language, and delayed mobility as well as sensory differences. My classroom was asked to participate in our school’s annual Science Festival. This experience will expand my student’s learning and expose them to discovery activities through science exploration.
My Project
This year I would like to give my students the opportunity to participate in our school’s annual Science Festival. I would love for my students to have the experience to learn and participate in science activities in spite of their disabilities. "Science for all" is a key goal of science education. With your help in donating to our project, my students will have access to the world of exploration through discovery and play with items such as paper, beads, and pipe cleaners. You will give them the opportunity to unlock adventures while fostering each child's strengths, attending to their challenges and giving them the resources that will enrich their learning experience.
