This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2025), 22.8% of people with disabilities were employed; the highest percentage recorded since 2008. Despite this progress, individuals with disabilities continue to face significantly higher unemployment rates than those without disabilities across all levels of educational attainment. As of 2025, the unemployment rate for people with disabilities was 8.3%, which is approximately twice that of individuals without disabilities.

Our vision is to foster an environment where people with disabilities are valued, accepted, and fully included in all aspects of society.

The Lucky Cup was established as an on-campus, student-run coffee business designed to equip students with both vocational and job-readiness skills. In addition to preparing students for the workforce, The Lucky Cup generates funds to support student and classroom activities, promotes inclusion by celebrating each individual’s strengths, and encourages the development of meaningful social and communication skills.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
